4 bags of popcorns in 4 acts
installation and performance
25’
ISAC studio, Brussels

The performance is an attempt to embody the sceneries of everyday life under war, while sharing with the audience the experience of creating and destroying an affective object within a constant sense of danger and uncertainty.
In the photos taken during the siege of Sarajevo, there were children playing on the squre, people gathering with tea, singing in choir, cleaning houses... I wonder how would it be, to live for thousands of days knowing that today could have been the last day, or this moment could have been the last moment.
Making popcorns in the microwave is a sweet violence. We see dazzling light and countdown numbers, hear gunshots and bombs, smell burning and feel the heat, before they finally melt in the mouths. Sensory perceptions are overloading. The performance explores the affective relation between human and objects.
