video documentation from livecam
durational performance (one afternoon)
In the performance I walked around Venice carrying a large white screen, getting captured by livecams and surveillance cameras. The action was experienced as an intense moment of encounter and an obstruction in the physical space. Yet in the dimension of cameras, it was a screen that framed passer-by in front of it and a piece of missing information in the city scene.

The work originated from my fascination with the ways people carry large objects in the city of Venice. It was part of the actions in public spaces in Venice, which has become a documentation of the lifeless city during the lockdown, when I started to perform in front of livecams, for the fact that there were more audiences online than in real life, and also for the convenience of documentation.
